Get Saucy- Part 1

Looking for that perfect sauce to compliment your meal? Here are two easy takes on classic condiments… go on, get saucy!

 

PESTO with chilli

Combine 2 cups of fresh basil, 1.5 cloves of garlic, 1/3 cup of pine nuts, 1/2 (or as needed) of extra virgin olive oil, 1/4 cup parmesan, 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of chopped chilli, salt and pepper to taste in a blender and blitz until well combined. You can also blend until creamy if desired. Serve with chicken, pasta, cheese or whatever your heart desires.

 

GRAVY with a caramelised twist

Use your store bought gravy mix, or your normal gravy recipe as a base. In a pan, place half a red onion (chopped) with some butter or olive oil and a pinch of sugar. Cook for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Add them to your gravy base and voila, gravy taken to the next level!
